Kirigalpottha mountain
This is the second highest peak in Sri Lanka. Due to the military headquarters at the top of the hill, Mount Pidurutalagala, which is off-limits to most civilians, can be considered as the highest mountain accessible to the general public.
Kirigalpottha Kanda is located in the middle of the beautiful Horton Plains and rises to an amazing height of 2388 meters above sea level. Horton Plains is also located at an altitude of 2100 meters above sea level, so the actual climb to the top of the mountain is only two to three hundred meters. Climbing is not tiring, but bad weather (Horton Plains weather is not so reliable) can not only slow you down a bit, but can also dilute your vitality a bit. However, all these difficulties will be offset by the beautiful view from the top of the mountain.
