St. Sebastian’s Church

Dedicated to St. Sebastian, the Guardian of the Negombo, this church is popularly known as the Church of the Valley. It is built on a model similar to the Ramid Cathedral in France. The foundation stone of this church on St. Sebastian’s Street, Negombo was laid on February 2, 1936 by the Archbishop of Colombo, Pierre Gugam Mark. It was created by G.J. By counting lids. It is said that it took 10 years to complete the construction of the church. This is suspected to be a beautiful church in Negombo. Every year in January a large number of devotees attend the church festival.
